On April 15th '07. Ms. Kitic becomes a first Inaugural Recipient of the
Artist-in-Residence Award given by The Chapman University College of Performing
Arts in city of Orange, California.
In November, 2004, Ms. Kitic was proclaimed "Diva Of The Year!" for the
2004-2005 season by the Opera Pacific Guild in a letter stating,
"... we would like to hold a dinner, in your honor, on Thursday,
February 10, 2005. As a recipient of that honor, the Guild will
make a donation to Opera Pacific in your name.
In February, 2003, Ms. Kitic donated her entire fee, from her performances as
Herodias in Opera Pacific's production of Salome,to the Costa Mesa
Company's Young Artist Program.
After having her American debut in Florida, Ms. Kitic donated her performance
fee to the Musical Education Program for Young Americans.
The International Jeunesses Musical Competition, Belgrade, has formed a special
prize for "the best young Mezzo-Soprano", under the name of
Milena Kitic, which awarded its first title in the year 1999.
In 1997, Ms. Kitic won a first prize of five billion Italian Lira
(approximately $1 Million US Dollars) at a Charity concert in Venice, Italy, in
the Theater "La Pala Fenice", where she sang with the famous Italian
Baritone, Renato Bruson, in front of a jury that included Maria Chiara and
Giuseppe Taddei. Ms. Kitic donated the proceeds of her award to "La
Fenice" for its renovation.
